I’ve got a 73 and am looking to get a new steering column. The one in the truck now is pretty thrashed shifter pops out of gear (it is an automatic) and ignition is non existent. So I see a lot of companies selling universal columns instead of spending $1000 and up for a direct fit. That is just way too expensive for a column. Has anyone bought a universal one and fit no problems?

Avoid the cheap ebay an china columns. They like to come apart while your driving. Find a good used one or pony up for a ididit or flaming river.
