what would make someone ask to delete an acct. ?
forum updates detailing new / popular threads landing in email. ...an email that was not requested.
(I started getting them recently,...did I ask for news of any forum...NO, including car forums that I have not signed into for years but started to get them).
for forums I don't give them my main email I use. (only for sales junk,...so I only look at that email 2x a week or less)...

If you have a truck, why do you want to delete the account? This is one of the best forums overall that are still active and definitely the best squarebody one

The pop up adds I have been receiving are a lot of sh!t. They state anything trying to get you to click them. I figured that's what the OP got sucked into. I need to re-up my membership.
