Hi I have a 454 tbi with a 700r4 coupled with it but it is not the original transmission in my truck. The tbi doesn’t have a stud for the tv cable. It has a stud on it and I have a friend who is gonna mill it down for me. I was wondering what are the dimensions for a stud to fit in the black piece on the tv cable?

First thing first, what carb and throttle bracket do you have?

The TV cable mount hole is not the same as what’s used for a 350 kickdown cable. To many people think as long as the cable is tight at WOT, it’s good to go. That’s not the case. The cable needs to move in the correct arc, and pull the cable in a predictable rate as throttle opens. Trying to use a kickdown stud cable location on a TV cable will result in sloppy lazy part throttle shifts and eventual trans failure.

Bow tie overdrives offers TV cable kits for most carbs. Get your carb number, give them a call.
