I was doing a preassembly on the truetrac that should be going into the truck soon. One thing i noticed is the bolt holes in the carrier are larger than the bolts. the bolt holes measure 13/32 and the bolts are 3/8. so there is 1/32 or .030 inches of slop , seams excusive for something that should be as precise as a differential. So is this normal or do I have a problem ? I dont want to "just go with it" and make an $800 mistake.

well talked to Eaton and verified the holes are to there spec. I guess were going to find out if the clamping force of the bolts is sufficient. I haven't heard of any problems from the ring gears coming loose.

That does seem to be excessive, but if they it's good to go, I guess it is.

I ran one of those for the last 5 years and the ring gear was still nice and tight when we took it out.
I would not worry about it.

I hope yours works much longer than mine did.
It failed last month after about 5 years.
I suspect perhaps a bent axle tube put a weird pressure on it and that was what made the tooth break.

Other than that, it worked awesome.
