I found that wheel hop ,and or breaking the tires loose and dead hooking back up after the launch will break just about any type of rear diff. We made 100's of 10 second passes on a 7.5" 10 bolt in my 99 Camaro. When we split the carrier in half on ii do to wheel hop. We went with a Strange 12 bolt. We were making enough power and putting it to the ground that the slicks starting spinning on the rim.

This kind of pertains but kind of not since I'm talking about big trucks here...like log trucks. But pretty much every exploded differential that I have seen or broken axle shaft on a log truck came from them spinning and hopping in the sand. Some even on empty trucks...not from a fully loaded many times over loaded in the 90-100,000 pound gross weight range. They get to spinning in the sand and then they start to hop, if they keep on it they will break something almost every time. In the red clay they just keep spinning they don't usually get to hopping like they do in sand.

I'm not a physics guy, but I understand in the 4x4 world, even with low HP and big tires, if you get to bouncing and the tire grabs one good time at full send, it'll straight up spit teeth off the ring gear, snap a driveshaft, or pop an axle shaft


But I didn't intend on bouncing the c10 lol
