Hello,
I am fairly new to square bodies, and I have a 1983 K10 project. It has a 4-speed granny transmission. I can't find any numbers to confirm, but I believe it is the Sm465. Can anyone confirm this by the photo attached?
Ultimately I am considering swapping to an automatic as I am fixing er up for someone else and they would rather it be easier to drive around town, does anyone know what all I would need to put a turbo 350 or similar tranny in it?

Thank you!

yes that is an SM465. if you go to a T400 than can use the same input gear in the transfer case. if you go to a 700r or turbo 350 than you have to put a 27 spline input gear into your transfer case..
