how many quarts of fluid does a th350 hold its got the np208 on the back of it also?

IIRC, with being totally empty and a brand new Torque converter in stock stall, It's 9 quarts. I'd put 3qts in it, start it up so the conveter fills with fluid. Shut it down, add 5 more. Start it up, run it thru all the gear positions with your foot on the brake to open all the gallies you can so the fluid is routed throughout the trans. Then put it in D or R and see if you have gears. If so, add 1 more quart and let it warm up and check it on the stick.

The last reman th350 I installed was in 1990. I was going to say 10 but my memory's not that great. I usually put a qt. in the converter before I put it in the tranny so it's not dry when you start it. Don't know if it does any good but it gives me a little peace of mind.

My memory to fail me too. It might very well be 10. I know I used to buy it by the case of 12 and seems I had two or three left over.

Fluid level with a cold transmission should be about a pint showing on the dipping stick.
Do not add more until it has been drove on the hiway for at least ten to fifteen minutes, then do a recheck an see where it is at. Maybe for a half hour if Your temps is like what We is having here.
Some peoples is fortunate that they owns a dipping stick with the hot and cold readings on it which wood not be hard todo with a file and the transmission known to be on the full when hot, mark it when cold after starting the enjun and seeing where the fluit is on the stick.

Per GM - Fluid Capacities:

THM 350C, 10 qts.;

THM 400, 11 qts.;

THM 700-R4, 11.5 qts.;

THM 475,9.5 qts.

I put 13 qts. in the 700r4 in my truck. It's got a 12in. converter and oil cooler on it. I thought it never was going to get full.
