Thanks, guys! It is a blast to drive, though I only get to do so about 5-6 times/year. It's only got about 98k miles on it. The red interior is in decent shape. I need one seam restitched on the front bench, new carpet, headliner, dash pad and rear shelf. Both benches and all the panels are good. It also needs front fender wells. I have no idea where the originals went. The paint isn't that nice up close. You're right, it could probably be wetsanded and buffed and look way better though. Since I'm going to have sheet metal patches at 3-4 places though, and the paint is like 25-yr old single stage, it might be impossible to spot in the repairs and have the paint match. I figure it would be worth it to sand it all the way down and get a proper paint job that'll hold up for another 20 years! Right now, I think I've got a bad rear wheel cylinder or something because front discs started overheating last time I drove it and discovered the back chamber was VERY low in fluid. I filled it up and parked it. Checked it again a couple months later, and it was 1/2 way empty again with no signs of leakage at the MC. I've got a buddy that owns a brake shop back home. I'm just gonna go ahead an get the drum rebuild kit installed, and new cylinders so that it won't take 1/2 mile to stop anymore.
I wouldn't want to, but I'd sell my square for it, just because it would be easier & cheaper to replace the square, and because the Chevelle has been a member of the family since I was 2 yrs old. So far, I haven't had to make that choice though. My plan to was to finish my square first, get a garage/shop built, then use the square to haul the Chevelle to my house to get started on it. I love seeing classic Chevys pulling antique Chevys! I don't have any radical plans for it. Just tightening up the mechanicals, sprucing the interior, and the body work. I'll probably keep the stock wheels, but I also want a nice set of 18" or 20" to cruise on. I have a couple of pics of the direction I plan to go. One is photoshopped, the other I found online, but didn't have the right top.
