Anyone have actual torque specs on leaf spring eyes and shackles. Looking for actual specs not “tighten em up real good”

And yes I’m aware they aren’t oriented correctly...

Well, my torque spec isn't what you are looking for. But more important than torque spec is torquing the bolts with the truck at ride height. You likely already knew that, but I figured it was still worth a mention.

Many, many curse words later. I had to channel my inner Shiva (I often wish I had four arms). Next time I do leaf springs I’m calling a buddy to help.

Yes sir, i just put the truck back on the ground and now I’m just waiting on that spec. They’re just hand tight for now. I didn’t see your post until after I posted my last pictures. What is your torque spec? I just don’t want to compress the crap out of the pivot points, but I also don’t want them backing out, lol!

My torque spec is just the right amount of gugg gugg guggs from the impact gun, lol. I honestly don't believe it's that critical because of the sleeve in the bushing. Realistically it's not going to get over crushed by an impact gun and a happy trigger finger.

I flipped through the DOD manual for the CUCV trucks. Oddly enough, I couldn't find any particular number. There doesn't seem to be a section on leaf spring replacement, out of 950+/- pages. Leads me to believe bucket has the correct answer.

I'm reasonably sure the Chilton or Haynes manual has a spec, but mine is at the shop. If you can wait until Monday I'll look it up for you.

I'm a little concerned that it seems like only one other person here has a manual.

Lol, I have some manuals. They get looked at every once in a while (factory manuals). But when it comes to things that I'm familiar with, I trust my own judgement over a Haynes or Chilton manual.

I just read my instructions for ORD's front shackle kit and it say 50 LBS. That is for a 1/2" bolt. I don't know if that's the same size as the rear kit.

I want to say they’re 9/16 in the rear.

That's absolutely true if you've been turning wrenches for years and know what it all feels like. I didn't want to make assumptions about someone else's experience.

Besides, the man asked for a spec.

Measure bolt size and thread pitch, unless you know already, and grade, put in google to see what you get from that.
