Tire size question…

I had plans of getting STA Super Traxion L78 tires for my ‘77, but they are on back order until August, per Coker. I also considered 33x10.5r15 BFGs, but they, too, seem to be made of unobtainium. What other options would you recommend for a K10? I prefer skinny-ish, but wouldn’t mind a bit of height.

The pickup is going to see just general putt around, hunting buggy, trips to the dump, etc. Won’t see super high-speed highway miles. I’m trying to take it back to original(ish). Not a restoration, just a clean, factory look all around. I’m a fan of tall/skinny, but don’t really want to get into lifting the suspension. Want to stay 31”-33” range.

I did find a Kenda Klever RT that is 33x9.5. Looks kinda neat.

I just looked those up. Not a bad looking tire, should work well in a lot of different conditions. I have had good experiences with other Kenda tires in the past. Nothing to write home about, but good nonetheless.

I'd be curious to see how they actually look in the 9.5" width. The stock photos all seem to be wider tires.

They're not mounted so it's hard to tell how they'd look inflated, but should give you an idea sort of.

I too have had good luck with Kendas. Never had them on a car but that's basically all I run on my dirtbikes. They're pretty cheap and perform just as good as tires that cost far more. Great bang for the buck IME, if their truck tires are similar I would have no problem with getting a set myself

Some guys were lamenting on a Land Cruiser forum I stumbled across that BFG dropped their venerated old 33x9.5. One of the guys mentioned the Kendas.

Running them on my 84 K-10.

I've also bought a couple sets of Ironman All Country A/T's. Good riding tire with no complaints. Chinese Coopers, basically. They do wear kinda fast on heavier trucks though, but the price is right.
