Tie Rod for Suburban

Hey quick question before I order up some tie rods for the suburban. On some of the tie rod ends I'm looking at they have the description of

• Important Information: Left;9.6" Long;w/ Left Hand Threads;7/8"-18 Right Hand Threads Can Replace Complete 7/8" Threads Design w/ 1" Threads Design;7/8" 18 Threads

What does the bold mean? 7/8 threads can replace 1in threads with no issues? (No need to change the adjusting tube? Or do I have to take off and measure the threads before purchase?

I think the larger O.D. tie rod end are for 4.10 geared trucks and the 7/8 O.D. are for the higher geared trucks??

You would have to do the whole assembly to upgrade to 1" . To measure what you have, just put an open end wrench on the threads, if the smallest wrench that fits is 7/8 that what you have. no disassembly required.

That's what the books say, at NAPA at least. But I've seen seemingly stock 3.73 trucks with the big tie rod.
