It's got an 80 grill and headlights.
Not an 80. Look closer. Stacked dual headlights, like what they ran in the eighties.

I have a '75, and for some reason the grills used from about '73-'76 are nearly impossible to find as a reproduction. You can retrofit a newer grill, but have to add the cutout for the outside hood release lever and possibly change the metal brackets in the grill. I used an original GMC grill to keep the truck looking good, but it is from about a '79 truck.

80 was an odd year. They have the single square light. 81 - 87 Silverado's have 4 headlights. Custom deluxe also have the larger single headlight but the turn signal is in the grill just under the light.

Yep, I'm familiar. I've owned examples of all. The one posted though, has 2 stacked lamps, in the 70's style bezel, instead of the one large square lamp.

Right, it's a strange setup. Not factory.

Factory tach, always cool.

I grew up in the 70's and 80's and I've never seen that headlamp "conversion" before.

Sure would like an up close picture of that headlight bucket. Almost looks like they carefully shaved out the center of the factory bezel to fit the dual bucket inside it. Stick doesn't look like the same space between the headlights as my '86 duals, set real close together to fit in the cavity I'll bet so center between buckets trimmed too. Late 70's-early 80's, I remember all sorts of customized stuff running around in vans, blazers and trucks, i'ts when I got interested in custom fab.

Got to be similar to this '77 El Camino.

Ahh, the mustache grill, lol. Could even be a bucket from 79 dodge like the lil red express had.

Well optioned truck. Nice era touches.

Throw some hurricanes on it with mudders on the back and street skinnies up front.

With the bucket seats and factory tach it’s probably worth messing with.

No title, run away.....

I hate to disclose a secret but you can get really good deals on last title cars.

It takes like $200-300 to get someone to do a bond and actually go do the filings etc. Pretty easy to get a title. Just need to check it real well to make sure it has no recent lien and isnt stolen.

80 non v22 trucks used the same bezels as as a 79 (round lights), 80 v22 trucks got the square lights.

Right, I never understood why '80 could have both round or square.
Can understand 2 or 4 depending on trim level but not a completely different shape.

Ford did the same in 79, who knows why.

If you were to look close at the truck in person, you'd probably find the bezels are cut. I've seen this before as well, but never nicely done on close inspection.

They used to just have boxes of headlights in the parts stores. I remember my dad just buying whatever one was cheapest and making it fit anyway he could lol.
