A few hundred bucks? You can buy a new rotating assembly for that. I assume you mean for the shop to assemble the engine.

Send me a link or explain where to buy a fresh rotating assembly for under 500 bucks.

He said a "few" hundred bucks. I guess it depends on your definition of few. I think Scat or Eagle offers one for the small block for around $650.oo. It's been a long time since I've played with small blocks.

Im usually a huge ********* on the internet after a few beers but im being completely sincere and honest saying this, Literally the last person to give me the speech about what a few means was a toothless ******* carnie. This was last weekend at a carnival I went to with my 6 year old.

Am I taking crazy pills or does a few mean three and a couple mean two?

@TJ I'm glad you got your 79 figured out. If I was you and this is my own opinion I would check the voltages you get off the alternator and ignition switch and various places to make sure your not also getting a voltage spike. I would also check all grounds and hots to make sure they all have good connections. Heat from manifold or header could caused the solenoid to go bad but I would still check. That's just my 2¢. But good idea to wrap the starter. Even if it wasent heat that killed it it will still help prevent it.
