TH400 trans service

Transmission pan is leaking fluid. Want to clean up the mess, reseal, and replace filter. Options on best gasket to use on stock pan.

IMO gasket doesn’t really matter if the pan is straight and you tighten it properly.
I generally use a very thin coating of rtv on both sides.

Straighten the pan. The sheet metal bolt hole area will probably need hammered back flat again.

Those expensive plastic ribbed reusable gaskets work great if you have a new or good flat pan.

Dont use any rtv /silicone sealer

I don’t have a part number, but the shiny tan gaskets that comes with the TransStar overhaul kits work well. If the pan is flat and installed dry, it takes a rubber mallet the break the seal.
