If it self levels and quits spewing fluid and still works then you’re probably overfilling. If it pukes until the trans starts slipping then you have an issue.

Have you run it til it stops puking?
And presuming the vent is clear.
Yes, and when it stops puking then reverse is slow to get going and slips alot. Topping it off brings back reverse. I’ve threaded a thin wire into the vent , doesn't go very far but is hitting metal. I’ve assumed it’s clear because the fluid comes out there now.

Not the same issue, but all good info shared in this post. I have overfilled the trans. I was just going to loosen cooling line and let it drip into a catch pan. really dont want to loosen trans pan bolts. any other ideas?

By how many quarts (or fractions of a quart if less than one) did you overfill the unit?

Do you hear any pump whine or other unusual noises or experiencing drivability symptoms?

If not, it shouldn't hurt anything to continue driving it...some fluid may vent from the tube on the top of the case as it relieves the excess.

Also, please quote my post when you reply - I don't get notifications otherwise...TIA!
