I have seen 2 similar problems....... One was the little gasket that the kick-down cable goes through or the housing of the kick down cable itself where it goes into the case was cracked. The other problem was a crack in the torque converter to pump flange. Clean it up real good with brake cleaner, let it dry and then spray it with a powdery antiperspirant and then run it. You should be able to see a little red trail leading from the leaking spot. Good Luck, I know how frustrating it can be.

Problem solved !!!
Come to find out the dipstick tube O ring was shot.
And of course, it's a flat O ring, not a round one, so I ended up having to use some RTV black on the tube and no more leak !

The “flat” O-ring is the reason it was leaking. The O-ring shouldn’t be flat, it was old and hardened to where it wouldn’t seal against the case. A new round O-ring would have sealed things back up. Or, goop it up with RTV. Either way, the end result it what matters, it’s not leaking now, good deal.
