It seems there is a lot of TBI conversion recipes floating around on the net. I'm sure all have their postives and negatives, but part of what I'm considering is just swapping over the TBI intake off my donor truck (91 350). it appears a TBI intake needs to have the center two mounting holes modified to properly bolt to the gen 1 sbc. Are there any other modifications needed to the intake?

Are there any advantages other than not needing a TBI adaptor plate?

Appreciate your feedback.

Honestly the tbi intake was designed to work withthe TBI and the TBI heads, you would see more power using a reg. carb intake (maybe a spacer) and an adapter for the TBI.

Makes sense. What about sensors? How many do I need to re-plumb into the non-TBI intake if I retain it?

I prefer to put coolant temp sensors in the heads but, factory was in the intake. I would tune out or have tuned out the egr, and AIR system if you dont have emissions. all the rest would be needed with the ecm.

Simple is good. No emissions here so I will tune out un-needed extras.

Any recommended tuners? I don't see any in the preferred vendors. I found Harris Performance online. Anyone worked with them?
