I certainly believe so. My 79 Cheyenne has this trim.

wasn't sure if there was a non embossed tailgate for that trim piece ... I assume it just covers it with no clearance issues ?

Looks like the correct rounded stamping ( 73 - 80 ) for that trim.

I'd assume the factory used trim clips to hold it on, though.

So I guess you need a certain tailgate with the clips welded in ? i see they were held on with screws through the tailgate.

I was hoping I could install something back there... its plain looking...

is there a video ? or is it pretty straight forward ? I assume it wont " teeter or rock" on the existing letters embossed on the tailgate ?

I think your existing tailgate would look good with the Chevrolet painted in white.

They have all different fonts.. often the decals are used as stencils with white paint under the body color… stick…paint…peel…clear

Ordering them in case I cant do a tailgate band..

My factory 78 has the wide tailgate band, i was shocked to find when i pulled it off that my tailgate was chevrolet embossed under it. I have pics from it but cant find them.
