Tailgate interchange

I have a tailgate for sale that a friend gave me. It is either a 73-76 1st design or 76-80 second design. It has Chevrolet in large letters centered. Then there is the 81-87 gate with chevy shifted over to the right. My question are all those gates interchangeable if looks aren't important?

They interchange, just the hardware is different between designs..

Selling it without hardware. It does still have the hinge sockets on it. Asking $40 on Craigslist Flint Mi
I'll take a look at the striker pin holes and see if I can narrow it down as to exact design.

Not sure on the years they changed but the white is an early model. 73 and up. The green im not sure.

Yup. Looks like the white one is a 1st design 73-76 and the other one is 76-80 both having the Chevrolet centered on the gate.

If I were closer, I would buy one from you. I am in the process of buiding a bench seat out of tailgates and steel rims for my backyard.
