Can I or should I? use GXL wire instead of SXL wire because I can find more colors in GXL? Right now it is to repair the rear harness and intermediate harness, but will need to use and rewire some of the engine bay and dash harness what are your thoughts? any would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  • SXL
Has thicker insulation, making it more durable and better for high-temperature spaces like engine compartments. SXL is often used for general circuit wiring and is a good choice for extra durability.

  • GXL
Has thinner insulation, making it more flexible and better for applications with limited space. GXL is often used in trucks and trailers and is suitable for engine compartments.

I'd probably choose SXL but it appears either is good for engine compartments so it shouldn't matter.
