Thank you for the info
The gaskets that came with the headers are cardboard with thin aluminum in the center. not liking them. I think I'll go to the Autopart's store & pick up a good set. the bolts that came with it look good but nothing special.

A year ago I put a 454 in my 87 v10. I tried the Summit long tube ceramic coated for $300 and the Hedman long tube ceramic coated for $800. The Summit fit better and had a nicer finish. 11 months later and they still look good.

put a set on my 86 k5 last summer, had to do minor modification on the power steering bracket and theres a bracket on the passenger side i had to remove, looked like it was some type of rubber bumper thing in case you bottom out, after i redid most of the work i paid a suposed pro to do to install, so far they seem to be good quality, i didnt get the ceramic coated ones but they have nice thick flanges and so far havent leaked

take a looks at page two of my thread. Summit vs headman

Hedman has two basic designs of headers, besides "Elite" and regular. They have one design like yours and they also have a version that hangs low like that Summit header you have pictured. I have run both styles of Hedman, they both have their merits, but I do prefer the version you have.

I hung the headman headers yesterday they fit well. i had to make a small dent the collector on the passenger side where the lower bolt sticks threw the spring & shackle. if i had the stock shackles it would have cleared. But The ORD heavy duty shackles w/grease fittings take up much more space in that area. the driver's side was close but cleared by a 1/4 inch. now to get the exhaust lined up.
if anyone's interested
i used Elite Ultra-Duty HTC Coated Full Length Headers 1967-92 Chevy/GMC Truck/SUV 283-400
Part Number : 69890
they are very heavy and well made.
