Hey everybody, new to the forum. Just purchased a 1973 C10 2WD Suburban. Had a little bit of fluid coming from the trans pan, which I assume is probably a failing gasket. I am in the process of trying to put a new pan, gasket and filter on, but I cannot get to the two front to bolts that hold the pan on that are hidden by the crossmember.
I’ve tried to search on a few remedies. I have loosened the transmission mount bolts and lifted the transmission, but I’m still unable to get close if that is the correct method. I’m inquiring whether I should continue with that method with the correct tool or attempt to remove the crossmember if anybody has any experience in this please any help is appreciated.
