Hey, been lurking for a little while, thought I'd finally start posting. Live in AZ just north of the border.
Had a 79 3/4 ton 4MT as my first vehicle in the United States. (Learned to drive in Okinawa as a young Marine) sold it after almost 10 years of ownership (and ZERO issues). My wife cried. Seller's regret almost every day.
After almost 15 years, decided to get back into a real truck for towing and other family stuff.
Bought an 86 3/4 ton 4x4 in Cali months back. Really janky, but made the grueling test drive home, so good running gear. Needed a windshield, found out that the passenger a-pillar was COMPLETELY rotted out. Sad face.
Wasn't sure if I was gonna do some welding myself, or what, but finally hit some luck on craigslist.
90 3/4t 2WD rolling shell. Cheap, and infinitely better than the 86's body. Hell, the doors even close on the first slam. Yes!
So now I get to do a frame/body swap in the backyard, which I'll document later in the appropriate section.
You guys have been a wealth of knowledge and entertainment so far, thank you!
