Firstly, I'm not sure if this is the correct place to put this thread. Somebody let me know if it needs to be elsewhere.

I recently bought a new Suburban and the barn door latch is stuck in the depressed position. I'm unable to open the door from the inside or outside, with the key cylinder in their position. I've tried to take the trim off from the inside, but with the door stuck shut, I'm not having much luck. The one that's stuck is the right hand door with the exterior handle.

Does anyone have any experience with this or any tips? Would like to be able to use the rear of the burb!

Thank you!

I'd say to douche the door handle and latch area with wd40 and then give it a few taps with a rubber mallet.

I was able to get it! Had to pull more of the inner trim off, just felt like I was going to break it.

Mine does that every once in a while. I can pry the button side to side
with a knife and it will pop out. I found when I unlock the door with a key I turn it to lock
first then unlock it wont stick.

I've had the same issue with mine. The striker is made of flimsy plastic that starts to bend and will slip and wedge inside which can lock up the button. My redneck fix was to place a small piece of wood with a small hole that allowed the striker to slide in and make better contact. Its been there 10+ years now with no issues! I'll eventually create something a little more robust...just kidding, I won't unless it breaks again.
