Welcome, I just swapped to 3/4 ton running gear as well! Mines an 89. Good luck with your burb there a lot of fun and easy to work on

It's nice to see all these people swapping axles on their Suburbans! I did the swap on my '88 back around '08 and so many people told me should have just bought a 3/4 ton to start with.

The swap only took one day! Being a direct bolt in its simple and easy. You were ahead of the times back in 08 my friend and now everyone is seeing the bigger picture. Grin

In my case I I was having a hard time finding a rust free suburban so when I found one at a reasonable price I bought it regardless. Running gear is cheap and abundant and one days work doing a swap is a lot easier than a month's worth of body work

Same story here. Looked at several 3/4 tons that turned out to be overpriced bondo queens, then bought a 1/2 ton because it was rust-free (far from it now) and priced very fair. I didn't get the swap done in a day though, lol. I complicated it with a lift kit and a bunch of 1-ton parts in the rear.
