Anyone have any recommendations on how to remove stuck oil sending unit? Put a wrench on it with some hammer taps, but was afraid it was going to snap off the unit from the threaded shaft, which I’m pretty sure would be a royal pain to fix. Has anyone tried heat? Was thinking about putting a small blow torch on the engine/base to see if that might help it release? Not sure if the block will soak up to much heat though or if I should use a heat gun instead? Kind of afraid of catching something ablaze back there as well. Thank you all in advance. 1980 350

Clean that area of block off real good then torch it hot mash a wax candle into base of sensor by threads. After that tap quite well with hammer. Anything beyond that is see what happens

Ive never broken one taking it apart. I've torn down a lot of engines. Yes you can throw some heat at it, just watch out for the wiring all around that area. A heat gun probably wont do it, if it is that stuck.
