So my '77 Royal Sierra has the dome/cargo light option. I've never seen one before like this. Is this the original light? You have to swivel it to illuminate cargo bed. Pretty cool.

Very unique and cool. I’m going with aftermarket as never seen one before and GM put the cargo lights on the outside.

A cab I bought a few years ago had one of those. It was broken somehow and I didn't pay much attention to it before I tossed it. While I realized it was adjustable, I didn't even think of it as a being able to swivel all the way down to light the bed.

Well rpo sheet has C92 which is listed as dome and cargo combo light. Combo leads me to believe it serves both purposes?

That is a factory installed dome light. They are also really rare.

Ya, I’ve never seen it before but not sure I’ve seen a cargo light on 70s models like the 80s models.
Heck the 77 I just got is pretty high optioned, Silverado trim, AC, pw/pl etc.
But it’s also weirdly optioned like it was ordered with hand picked options.
No cargo light.
No rear slider
Poverty cap white wheels
Scottsdale seat (Silverado trim package)

And there’s about a 0.01% chance any of it is not original. Just by the demeanor of the seller, the believable story, and the original clues of the truck.
Long way around saying, makes sense that was GMs first rendition of a factory cargo light.

I don't know the first year for the optional cargo light. It was in the 70's at some point though.

Silverado and Scottsdale seats were the same. Both were available in cloth or vinyl.
