This is what I have for GPS tracking. It's $100 a year, but that's cheap insurance to know I won't lose my truck I've had since high school. Battery powered, which last at least 5 years, and uses GPS and 5G LTE. You can track it on an app, set up a geofence, etc.

I also like this idea. Maybe even with a window sticker saying it has a tracker would deter the would-be thieves from even thinking about it.

Is there a thread here that discusses which is the best “club” to get? There are a bunch of different models.

On the older trucks, the steering wheel core is relatively thin for impact reasons and clubs can be removed by just simply cutting the steering wheel core with a set of bolt cutters then slipping off the club. We just used to put in a hidden power cutoff switch or a toggle switch in the neutral safety switch (for autos) purple wire.

Instant on alarm no stickers no dash light no warnings of any kind. Leave the door unlocked ,so no vehicle damage and kill the fuel. They probably will run off as soon as they open the door and the horn goes off,so no damage done. It could even alert you via text. Fuel cut off so even if they start it they aren't going far. They'll be in the middle of the road with a dead vehicle,flashing lights and horn. They are going to abandon their effort.

When I had to drive my British convertible to work in a less-than-steller area of the city I lived in at the time, I would disconnect the fuel pump power (was easy to access inside the car) but never locked the doors. The cost of the damage they would do cutting thru the convertible top would far exceed that couple bucks worth of change in the ashtray or the mid-grade radio. I lost my toll change frequently (pre-EZTag type systems - had to physically drop coins in a basket) but then the miscreants decided to steal the whole ashtray - which at the time was not available as a replacement piece. That got me a bit heated....
