Stock tire size for dually and how big can I go?

does anyone know for certain what the stock tire size on a square dually? I’m getting conflicting sizes depending on which website I look at. I just know what I have now is at least a size smaller.

Also, what’s the largest I can go on a stock height 2wd dually? Obviously, width has restrictions due to the rear tires and such.

In your year, I think 215/85 and 235/85 are both stock sizes.

265/70 works well, or even a 285/75 but it would be close at the rear. It might be close depending on the brand/model of the tire, as well as how much you plan on loading the rear of the truck.

Thanks! I may go with a 265/70 then. I definitely want the tires to be wider and slightly taller than they are now

That's what I would do too. If you ha e 235's now, the 265's will be right about the same hight.

I have 215/85 on there right now. If you look at it from the back there’s a decent side gap between the rear tires on each side

I was thinking about it more and realized I misspoke. It's the 265's that are really really close and may not fit. 285's need spacers for sure.

But I also forgot all about the 255/85 size. Slightly wider than stock and taller too, they are a narrow 33" basically. They aren't as common anymore, but are a good size for a dually as long as there's no heavy loads.

I think with 16 inch wheels, they all had 235/85's.

Thanks for that. That's the current size tyre I have on it now so all good there (I do want to go for a wider tyre once these ones are done). I was mainly curious to know what size was stock as my speedo is reading slow by a fair amount so I was thinking I may have had a larger diameter than stock.
