Steering Column Swap

After reading RetroC10Sport's killer post, I wonder how these columns are identified. For example, I need a 238-237A. Will this be stamped on the column? I've searched the numbers and get nothing pertinent. I'm looking to put a tilt wheel in my '73 K-10 and do not want a column that's longer from firewall to wheel.

don't know about the '73 but on mine i swap a 1989 Suburban in my '86 and it was bolt on!

I have installed several tilting wheels (67, 74 and 82). Pretty easy for those years to do. Just look for a truck like yours and put it in.

I have mine out I can measure it, its not a tilt but then maybe you can compare before you buy one. Mine isn't auto trans. and like Pali7 I would think anything in the year range should fit.
