Look up the part number in the parts books and google it.
Ripping that part out of a working column will make that column useless so I don't blame the salvage guys..
You may find it's cheaper to just buy a used column.

Non-tilt? And you just need the lock plate?

I ran into that once too. A car I bought had a loose steering wheel, turned out the PO had been in the column and didn't have the tool to compress the lock plate, so they just left it out. I had no clue what I was doing then, lol. I went to the junkyard and got a plate, then I couldn't get it to fit. Found out about the install tool and it still wouldn't go back together. That's when I realized tilt and non-tilt were different. So back to the junkyard I went.

But anyway, I think I still have a couple lock plates for non-tilt. One is probably the leftover from my learning experience. I'll check later today.

Na, if I have one I can just pop it in the mail to you. I just want to make absolutely sure I still have one to send.

I have a loose one, but it has damage to the splines. It will still slide on and work. I'd be happy to send it your way. I also have an extra column that I could pull the lock plate from.

Don't forget the spring under the plate and the lock ring to hold the plate down.

I need one for a tilt column as well. When you two have figured out what you need, and there is one left over, I’m in for one.
