First timer guys, and I'm young so if I mess up cut me a break. I got my 83 k10 327 four speed with 38 in tires, and when I drive the speedometer only goes to about 45. If I've done my homework the speedometer cable on that year is mechanical, and plugs into the transfer case, and is driven by a little gear that can be changed to compensate for the larger tires. So I'm asking is this info true, and where and what gear would I need to straighten the speedometer out. Thanks for your time guys.

Yes that is correct. Not sure which one you would need though. I would check with a local transmission shop.

I've been on there, it's a little confusing, was hoping to run into someone with close to the same situation.

Sorry I'm not much help. I've researched it a little, but I've never had big enough tires to throw my speedometer off enough to worry about.
