Spent 4 hours getting the center pin out of my Gmail 12 bolt. Swapping in a 3.73 gear set and lsd. If you look close you can see the Carnage. Used a death wheel to cut the carrier in half and it still wouldn't come out until I cut the gears in half as well!

Why not just disassemble it?

Ahhhh. Now I see.

I guess you couldn't slug it hard enough to break the retainer.

Too little too late for you, but a set of left-hand drills is great for drilling out broken stuff. Many times the bit will grab and spin the piece out.

I like it. Sometimes when parts don't want to come loose, you just gotta show em who's boss.

I would have put a steel drift and a BFH on that crosspin till it sheared the retainer bolt. But what you did worked, and if it works it aint stupid.

Ya I bfh'd that thing for EVER. LOL. It turns out it was one of the gears that was really stuck on there. But I am REALLY LOVING the new diff and gears. So much more fun to drive. Burnouts for distance are a lot more satisfying as well!
