You didn't give us much info buddy, but the first thing I'd look at is to see if the throttle body and idle air control valve are dirty, if they are clean them up and retest. How is the idle otherwise?

looks like only two things are the neutral safety switch or the rod from the key

Punctuation exists for a reason. It makes words make sense. Sorry, but your posts are harder to read than Braille.

Maybe your idle speed is too high causing dieseling, and turning the wheel loads the power steering to kill the truck?

"Punctuation exists for a reason." Agree and it is pretty hard to help a guy in writing without it and without a good description.

My thing is it actually continuing to run like normal running, not turning off or is is dieseling.

@codfish146 We are not trying to give you a hard time, we are trying to help and right now it's diffecult to do anything other than pull out wild guesses with still VERY limited information and text that's tough to read.

Would it be easier for you to shoot a video of the truck acting up? You need to post it to youtube and link the video in this thread.

Ya, I cannot tell if the engine is dyeing when he turns the wheel on the road or parking lot or if he turns the key off then turning the wheel makes it shut off. Man you are going to have to give us more than one line......

Its the "automatic NON shutoff feature". As opposed to the new vehicles it works the opposite for the sole purpose of making the climate change whackos lose their minds. Especially effective on the 40 year old gas guzzling, exhaust belching smokepots we love. Turn the key off and it continues to run just to dump a few more metric yards of CO into the atmosphere.

The one thing that gets me about the possibility of it dieseling is it's a 91 so it should TBI, unless someone took that off.

Again not trying to pick on OP but readable information is key to getting any kind of meaningful help.

I thought about that after I posted my WAG.

I'm out of WAGs with the limited info we have...

To be honest, I am often somewhat confused by @Rusty Nail when he posts also. However, I am confident he is whip smart and his posting style is a ruse to keep people of his trail lol.

Yes, Sonny (Rusty Nail) is a good guy for the most part I think. And heck he's the guy that convinced me to pull my intake manifold when I had oil control issues and thought no way could it be the intake gaskets, and he was right. I think smart as a whip is correct.

Just throwing out there, I've currently got an issue on mine where it keeps running after key off when the AC blower is on (somehow backfeeding voltage I'm sure, just haven't dug in). It isn't really dieseling, but it is definitely running weaker and I could imagine the extra load of the PS pump could stall it out. If I leave it alone with blower on high, it will continue running for 5-10 seconds, shorter when the blower is on low I think. It's also TBI, not sure how hacked up yet since I plan on pulling it all later, but it is at least mostly stock. I had a similar issue on another where an electric fan relay was powering up the ignition circuit when the fan was on high (long story, not a stock setup by far), and anything keeping the computer on can keep the engine running to some degree.

look I took a good test one time, that's all..everybody gets lucky but i'll try to help.
I always scan clockwise from the hood ornament.
standing in front of the truck there is power at the alternator, and a plug.
is that terminal on the back of the alternator wiggly - AT ALL? is it cable loose?
the other end of that wire is the battery
terminals look okay? do you see blue junk? are the cables tight?

looking objectively at the battery, is it shity? 5years old or?
so how old do ya reckon the cables are? again, looking objectively.
what is 2022-1991?
31. if they are 31 years old you should replace them. too much variable to be allowed to exist - forces too many questions to continue.
what about the belt and the tensioner? there are 4 or 5 marks on the tensioner and it oughta be in the middle. Belts get 5 cracks per square inch.
