I think it would be so cool to have the 64-66 Medium Duty to make a Moore only city roll back out of. That would be cool as hell. I'd do all my PD impounds in that bitch.

Alot of those trucks went for alot more that I'd think they're worth. Even at low mileage, varmits and weather have destroyed them. Those under 100 miles, a bit different but those with 37,000 and 69,000, pretty much junk trucks.

I didn't see anything that was worth over $500. Auction feeding frenzy mentality.

From what I understand, most of the cars and trucks were vandalized and had parts stolen. Radiators and stuff to scrap.

Those trucks are all pretty rough, but it looks like sheetmetal is in good shape on them, we all know how much NOS sheetmetal costs on these trucks (a ton). I bet with a good sanding the metal would be good. The interiors and drivetrain is probably junk from sitting so long.

If it was me, I would buy one, take it home and take off the panels, doors and box, maybe the frame and take my trucks good cab/interior and build one truck from the two.

I agree Matt. Now the low mileage ones, under 3,000 and such, those I'd probably restore. Not sure why, but it would be cool to have a super low mileage Square. Bad part is, to keep the mileage that low, you couldn't drive it. And no, I damn sure would not pay the prices that those went for. Most of what I seen there was scrap metal other than like you said, the good sheet metal. I'm sure rats were all thru the duct work, chewed up wiring etc. Now the virgin cores would be nice to have. Those motors, you could pull a part, I'd replace the rings and bearings rather than just loosen the rings up. But the bores should still be good. And the fact the VIN # matching on the motors and the tags on the transmissions matching would be nice to have too.

I know we're all about lovin' squares here, but the whole thing kind blows my mind. Regardless of mileage, all of these are pretty much "junk" and not really any different than what's available in the used market, usually running/driving, for under 2k.....or less. Plus, there's nothing there that's "collectible" or "rare." Who in the world pays that kind of money? Whether it's got 5mi on it, or 40k, it's been sitting in the elements for 40 years. You're not going to drive away, or drive it at all, without a ground up mechanical resto......and then you still have paint, rubber, and what else to deal with.

It's kinda funny and I'm betting the auction house is laughing all the way to the bank.
