Update, the 87 runs, 4x4 works, trans does Go in gear.
1 of the injectors on the throttle body seems to be spraying weak, but after rolling the motor over a few times and some starting fluid, it fired up and was idling.... Drivers bank is lean because of weak injector spray....
4x4 does work in all ranges,

The old man I got it from told me it rolls forward and backwards in park, so since everything works, I can only assume the parking paw is broken in the trans.

Tonight, I had the fortune of @bigcountry78 being here, so we got the 87 running. He can confirm it runs, and "drives"

Whole drivetrain (minus axles) can be had for 800, local pickup, or I will sell individually.

HOWEVER

@Joe T expressed interest in the transfer case.

Some of the fins are kinda bent on it. You'd have to comb it back straight and you'd be ok.

Does anyone know what a blue box called a "mileage master" is, or whatever it is, @bigcountry78 might remember the specific name.
I couldn't figure out what it was.
It was the same style and color as the iginiton box that can be seen in one of the pics
