Does anybody know if the TBI era distributer cap (small diameter) are all the same size physically?

I have an MSD small cap dizzy that I want to swap to the "crab or crossfire" type to clean up my plug wires.

Voted yes.

Two sizes big n little.

Internal or external coil.

Hold on....

Red and white

OR

Red and YELLOW module wires do not directly interchange.

Hope this helps!

Thanks. My dizzy has the shutter wheel, no module, cannister coil. Part of my Pro-flo 4 efi. All I need is a cap & rotor.....I think.

I do too.

Those things are called "correct-a-cap" and you can put them on whatever you want to change wire routing.

If they're no better than GM's attempt at a crab cap with their Vortec (96+) engines, stick with the old messy one. I've had more of the Vortec caps fail than I care to admit.

What is your distributor model number? That cap you listed is for 96-97 Vortec engines, not for an MSD distributor. Call MSD to see if they offer anything.

BTW, wire routing without a gimmick cap doesn't have to be messy as long as your #2 and #3 wires are long enough.

Thanks for the info everyone. I'm having some EMI issues with my stereo that I thought might be from my mess of plug wires. After some rerouting and testing this weekend, that's not the case.

However, I still intend on buying some new quality wires and am looking at the best wire divider set for centerbolt style valve covers.

I really like the look of the R & M Speciaiities. Anybody have style that works well with headers?

Reply from Rusty Nail: I have both types of coils with the different colored wires and cannot find what the difference is?

Looking up different vehicles they call for the different coils, However they all call for the same module?????? Not sure where the difference come in? I've used both and they both work equally well!
Can someone shed some light on this??

Thanks

They're a PITA but under header wires sure clean up an engine bay. I've seen sets of Taylors that are made for it but custom would be the way to fly IMHO. You'll need brackets, etc. to hold them away from the engine and headers.

Nope.
There was a different module..2 or 3 wire? Something.. about powered accessories..? Choke power? electric fan ? Fuel pump voltage? Oil pressure?

There was some difference because if you used the wrong one you'd buy a coil.lol?
