I really like the clean look of it and considered it on my son's truck. The main reason I didn't do the conversion was I couldn't find relevant feedback on how well it holds up to frequent use in regards to staying on track and if it needs occasional adjustment as I only saw it on trucks that weren't used very often.

I'd like to see an update to this thread in a few months/ years as to how satisfied you are long term and if you'd do it again on a daily driver?

Is this the kit from Brothers or OPP?

Personally don't like it, think it looks out of place. That and you lose the functionality of the vent windows, squares were among the last vehicles in the world to still use that system. However, I bet it is nice and quiet in the cab. If I were you I would try to move the mirror forward a little or switch to the weird looking plastic sail mirrors they put on the 90-91 burbs and crew cabs so at least it doesn't look like it's randomly stuck in the middle of the door.

Personally I'm not a fan, I love vent windows looks and functionality wise. But if you like 'em, that's what matters. I've never heard much good about them though, hopefully you have a better experience than everyone I've talked to

I'm pro-vent window myself, but to each his own. I would say that these probably look pretty good with the last of the square burbs 89-91 because of all that big glass it would look right at home.

If you have windows that have rusted tracks, and not the patience for the vent window rebuild, I totally get it. I almost went that route till I found my donor windows.

That’s a great idea.
I have a one piece setup on order and have been doing body work on the doors anyway.
I’m going to give this real consideration. Thanks for the tip!

I think it looks good, the vents are period correct but the noise with them at speed is annoying. I have been on the fence ordering the kit but wanted to know if the glass fits good and it moves up and down without issue etc.

I grew up not having a working AC in the car. So we always used the vent windows. It looks good after the conversion. Curious how is the air flow. Does it reverberate like of the new cars do when its open? I love the windows down. With the window gone I would end up with a size 13 out the window.

I saw your truck on Truck U on Motortrend Sunday. Wish they had shown more of the install.

I've been considering that myself as my vent windows and window glass tracks need some serious work. I will have to see how my finances are after the body shop gets done with me.
Nice color, BTW

So how are you liking it so far? I am considering go this route and just now looking at prices. I have a friend in the glass business and reached out to him to see about rebuilding my side vents. He recommended this route but admitted he has never done this mod before...
