Okay, what goes into this unthreaded hole for the shift indicator wires to ride on? I made my own out of an aircraft rivet, but would like to know in case I find the correct gizmo in my stuff!

I don't have one sitting in front of me, but the wire should just go into that little slot and ride on the plastic. (Around the area with the unthreaded hole)

Your missing a bit that has broken away from the cable. New ones are readily available.

@AKguy,

"Classic Industries" has them. Maybe "Brothers". Ebay has them, pretty much all over. I needed a new one recently and I think I may have got it from Classic Industries. Mine had the needle broke off a perfectly new one I got from the wrecking yard. I didn't even notice it until I had it in the truck then noticed the needle was gone. So I had to get another new one. It's a part that you don't really need. If you can't tell what gear you're in something else is wrong with ya'. But it was what the factory put in so...

My problem now is trying to find a light for it. I don't have the printed circuit behind my gauges anymore, I have separate gauges. Where is your light coming from?

@AKguy,

If you'll look at my "gear indicator install" post you'll see that nothing goes in that unthreaded hole, it's the part that has the slight "v" shape to it. If you look at my indicator install you'll see how that cable goes in it. Go to "Electrical & Audio" under "Gauge, Speedo, and Instrumentation". Then look for the "gear indicator install" and you'll see what part the cable goes in.
