Well, it passed. Yay $9 fuel cap from O'Reillys. While we're talking about gas caps, where do y'all put yours when fueling, since on a Suburban there's no bed to put it in... I end up putting it on the ground but I'd rather not do that.

on my '86 'Burb. Also makes it a lot harder to forget the cap.

Couldn't make a sort of ribbon that lets it hang from the tank after you unscrew it like the new trucks? They even have a little tab on inside of the fuel door to hang the ribbon on

Take a look in the Help! section at Advance Auto. They have that very thing in a kit. It comes with the ribbon, a spring to hold it to a gas cap (that does not have a mounting hole), and plastic push-pins to attach it to the body and the cap (if it has the hole). I just used this kit to replace the apparently broken/missing ribbon on my 99 Dodge. Works like a charm, and it was like $5.
