Hey there yall. figured I would finally join up. I'm 37ish from Louisville KY. I'm currently building a 81 k5 for more of a dual sport kind of role. its a 1981 k5, 350 with sm465. l at the point in my build where I am seeking build advice and figured this would be a good starting point.

mods are
rebuilt and cammed 350
sm465 swap
soft top
truck tailgate
tahoe seat
12k winch
custom front and rear bumpers
new offbrand reclining front seats with 4 point harness
35x12.50 BFG M/T on 15X12 wheels
I'm currently installing a 6" ORD custom spring lift.
when the lift is done I have a 14bff rear going in it
and 8 lug 10bolt front
ORD cross oversteering as soon as I get to pulling the knuckle off for machining.

yes I do. the only time I ever had a problem was a 12" VERY wet snow fall. I had to broom it off the soft top. it was starting to collapse from the weight. snow like that here is rare...but nonetheless, its something to be aware of.

Thats not too bad. I know parts of KY can get some decent snow thats why I was asking.
