Rough country 2 in lift leafs

I bought a rough country 2" lift , leafs front and back. Shocks and hardware will be here tomorrow . I got the leaf springs today but I noticed that the rear don't have a wedge or a flat leaf ( wedge thin end faces forward). Am I missing something?

Now that I think about it some most kits have blocks that have the angle built into them but since you got leaves for the rear often times they have a small angle shim that is bolted to the leaf stack so you might check and see if you have one on the bottom of the rears. sounds like you did thought but I'm just tossing out the idea you are overlooking it by thinking it may be loose. Hope you find it.

I bought the same kit a good 7-8 years ago, didn't need any shims or blocks or spacers. The springs are designed to compensate. Blocks are not what you want, lift springs are much better. Don't worry, you're fine.

Some people might complain and say that RC lift springs are stiff and have a harsh ride, but it doesn't bother me (or a lot of people). Whether people dispute that fact or not, I don't think there's anyone who will say RC is a bad quality kit. I've never heard of anyone having fitment or durability issues, just the occasional fart that doesn't realize lifting a 30-40+ year old leaf sprung truck might make it ride a little less cushy than a brand new Escalade...

The angle should be fine as the springs are made for a model specific. Installed 3 lift kits and never had to correct the angle.

Depending on the application and truck's usage, lift springs are not always better than quality cast steel blocks.

Rough Country tends to make decent stuff. It's just that some people aren't OK with a ride quality that is significantly rougher than the factory springs. But if you are fine with a bouncy truck that tends to jounce around over pot holes and expansion joints in the road surface, you'll be fine.

The fact that there's no overload leaf is probably an indicator of the spring rate. With only 2" lift, degree shims probably aren't needed.

I just purchased the same kit about a month ago I have it sitting in my shop and I can look at it if you need or snap pictures. If that helps. I can’t open your pictures for some reason. Mine is for my GMC Jimmy fullsize 4x4 6.2L diesel. 1984 52 inch spring rear.

Trying to get it on now. I started a new thread . Leaf spring shackle help. Ran into shackle bolts snapping. Grinding down rivets.

You installed the rear 2" lift springs from rough country with no issues? Isn't the total length 49" when it's called for 52"? So once you install the rear leafs it will stretch enough and keep the 2" desired? I'm debating on purchasing but the length is stopping me especially the price north of the border.

RC springs are rough. If the 86 didn’t come with them, I would not buy them if I was lifting an old leaf spring front axle unless I was plowing snow maybe. They even have a fair amount of sag under the big block but still rough.
Keep minimal adequate air in the tires for the type of driving you do. It helps. If the tires are hard it feels like it’s riding on solid blocks.
Pretty sure my rear axle doesn’t have a wedge shim even with 4” blocks. No issue.
Same with front. Had wedges and when I installed the zero rates under the 4” springs one of the shims came out in 2 pieces.
Doesn’t affect caster enough to make it drive any different.
Caveat, haven’t put any 4wd miles on it since so not sure if it’s ok for the driveline in front.
2” all around, don’t sweat it at all.
