I keep seeing just the rotors available for my truck. Currently mine has a one piece rotor/hub. Is/was there an option to have them seperate? I ask because the hub/rotor is more expensive than just the rotor option. Do I need to convert it? Be nice to be able to change just the rotor.

Front hub on amazon that says it fits in pic below. Plenty of samples via google that show rotors only.

Thanks In Advance

I haven't personally seen a hub/rotor assembly. I've always seen them separate. Never one unit

Looks like that O'Reilly's part is 2 piece. Just got to knock the studs out. The joys of inboarded rotors and drums.

Yeah I was confused when I first got into the front brakes on these. Knock the studs out and then use a soft blow hammer to separate the hub from the rotor.

Yeah I assumed it was just an assembled 2 piece, without seeing the other pics. From that other pic now it's definitely a 2 piece unit.

So are you saying I can get the part in the first pic/post and get rotor? Mine look solid...no taking them apart....same thing on the one in the video.

AI photo trickery going on. The unit should split when the studs are removed...or it's a 2wd C10 that's a solid unit.

Well dang......12 minute mark. I swear mine looked solid. So there is an opportunity for me to save money instead of changing the whole assembly.

Never watched that video until now by luck. Anyway, watching that video, my confusion was thinking the rotor slipped out off the studs....the hub being behind/inside the rotor.

Got it now, Thanks guys.

Sorry I just kind of glanced over that! Typical gm 4wd straight axle even into the early 90's gmt400's ifs the rotor is behind the hub. So yes you can just get the rotors as the hubs usually don't ever go bad unless you spun a race real bad.

On the straight axles you have to pull the whole unit off, the rotor sits behind the hub, held in place by the knurling on the studs. Generally I would recommend replacing the studs anyways. But they have to be knocked out to replace the rotor. Then new studs pressed in through the back of the rotor then back of the hub.

Just to clarify.
