Which is better for the hauling I do with my truck?

I found from some tundra owners the rhino liner is soft and giving. The line-x is tough and harsh. Are both the same price range?

I haul scrap metal, junk mowers, loose metal, transmissions, etc.

Whats your experience with rhino or line-x?

I would want it sprayed up over on the bed rails and a lip sprayed on the tailgate as well like bed liners have it.

I have Line-X in my Tacoma, I can't really tell you how much it costs since the truck came with it but I can tell you it's pretty tough. The texture isn't so rough that it would scratch you if you were scooting around the the bed of the truck but it might dimple softer materials you're hauling if there's much weight above it, like the styrofoam insulation that goes under vinyl siding. When I hauled my Dana 60 the bed of the truck got dented a little but the liner didn't come loose from the metal of the bed. It did however get peeled off a little from sliding the axle out, I think the 3rd member dug into the liner and put scratches down to the metal in one place. Overall I would say it's a great product. I thought about doing my mud truck's bed with one of the home kits you roll on yourself but haven't got around to that yet.

They both seem good. A good friend has the Rhino in his truck and it's peeling in a couple spots, but it's on the bed rails and the paint is still glossy where the liner has come off. I think it was just shoddy prep work by the shop that sprayed it.

I've seen 'em both peel, and I've seen 'em both last in trucks w/no problems. The prep is the key. They do look different and have different textures. If that matters to you, I'd look at the samples in the shop, and I'd talk to some guys that haul stuff and see how their's hold up. If their's is standing up the abuse and you like how it looks, they should be a safe bet for doing the correct prep work.

I like the texture of Line X better, but again, that goes to how well the installer has his gun adjusted and his prep work. When I sold trucks, we'd use either Line X or Rhino. Both were the same price, and both good quality, but we chose which one, based on who could get to it fastest at the given time so we could get it back to the customer ASAP. If you're considering it, I'd go down and look at each one and see which texture you like best, see if one might give you a better deal, or if going with color, see which one has the color you like best. I also think the Line X was a blacker black, and the Rhino seemed to go a bit gray after some time in the sun. My preferance would be the Line X but not cuz I think its better quality or more durable.

Agree, prep is the key to almost all finishes. I used to work with epoxy and polyurethane products and again the key is prep. I would concern myself with who is doing the work and they know what they are doing and also check on the UV stability so the sun does not make it fade quickly and make it look old too quickly.
