Is this a direct swap? Double D on the column side and same spline count at the gearbox? Looking at RockAuto at a couple of random year squares, I don't see a steering shaft listed at all. I see the one you listed, but they don't list one for a K-truck of the same year. The C3500 shows 14 spline count.

Its a direct swap, there's isn't one for K but it should fit a K, I don't know what 14 spline is about, the one I picked up had a 26 spline. If you want to do this swap you also need gm bolt Part #11610555

Per the other thread by dd1990, I got Dorman part # 425-177 for $130 off Amazon. I pulled out the Jeep shaft and put the C3500 shaft in. It's a perfect fit. I'll post pictures of it in the truck tomorrow. For today I have comparison photos of the original shaft, the Jeep shaft, and the C3500/Dorman 425-177 shaft.

Got the bottom bolt in today, picked up a normal grade 8 M10x1.5x30 flange head bolt form the hardware store see pictures attached. Haven’t taken it for a drive yet but I can say I like not having to modify the shaft at all to get it in there and the dampener is the same style as the original shaft. The jeep one is different.

I SOMEHOW screwed up this swap. I bought the part, both ends fit but I thought the column would stretch out more.... and it didn't!! It's short like 3/4". Sigh. I must've bought the rworng one. I already drilled a hole on one end so can't send back.

I bought the Borgeson steering shaft and thought I had a similar problem. Turned out to be a non-issue, so maybe the solution will work on yours.

Called them and they told me to pull that black rubber bellows down the shaft to expose the slip joint underneath. On the bottom of the shaft there was an Allen head set screw that I loosened, and the shaft extended even more so I got an exact fit. Tightened the set screw and pulled the rubber back over to cover the joint. YMMV

I didn't see the allen screw but will check, thank you. I decided to buy the more expensive Borgeson too, a more experienced friend told me to not mess with a steering hack.

If you want to sell the shaft that is too short let me know I'll buy it.
