Are you aligning the flat spot and bolt groove correctly. I want to say mine didn’t mind a little tally tap to go on. It went on though.

I could be wrong, but shouldnt that top part have flats on both sides? Looks like just one side has a flat from the pic.

Mine is an 84. I didnt see the OP say what year his k20 was. The 89 xj might be slightly diffrent from the 94+ xj shaft.

There’s too much conflicting info on the year range out there. I first thought it was 77, then 79... The reason for that is not the Saginaw end, though. It’s the splined steering column output. I’ve not heard or seen the Saginaw input ever being a problem on this or rival forums.

Sometimes you just gotta like a post, even if it was from months ago.

Thats why I was using the wind to keep the fumes away from me and the that traitorous bitch turned and blew it back in my face.

Lmao. Hilarious....

I didn’t think it was a problem either which is why I was surprised that I had problems. Tonight I’m going to take measurements again and see if I just need to pry the opening wider or if it really won’t fit.

My k20 is a 1979

Any easy way to determine if the slop is the shaft or the gear box? Or both?
