Replacement Radio

Hey all
Just wondering if anyone has used these folks for replacement radios.

Pretty sure I am going with the USA-230. Factory look, decent output and and not too many bells and whistles. I am looking for a radio that will last.

Looks like a good deal, but it is made in China... Seriously though, it does look decent and you can get add-ons for Bluetooth and an aux port. IMO it really depends on what you are looking for. I went to a junkyard and found a 78 Olds Delta 88 that had a top of the line (back then) AC/Delco with cassette for 10 bucks and bought a cassette adapter for 10 bucks and could play music from my phone if I wanted too.

I bought one for a 1972 5 years ago. It was OK, but when the digital station number is on, the lines for the AM appearance stayed in place. I did not like that part. Overall, worked good.

Made in China. Tell me you're not surprised. I just replaced my original water pump and went with a AC Delco ( had to order it ) and was hoping it was made in North America. Canada, Mexico or US. Just give me North America. Nope. My AC Delco was Made in China.
It is jetting nearly impossible to get anything but China made.
So unless I hear someone say run from this radio I think it may be a good replacement.

I don't like the way the "retro" radios look when lit up.

The whole made in China thing, the stuff you think is made here is probably just reboxed anyway lol.

But, my personal preference, was to do an Aurora FM conversion on a stock Delco unit, looks alot more discreet. It's also double the price.

I couldn’t stand the thought of cutting my dash for a din radio so I went on eBay and found a NOS vintage sparkomatic sr 307 high-power (45 watts! haha) radio for a whopping $38 with shipping. It’s got the cassette deck so I can get an adapter for my phone if I want but it picks up FM well and it fit right in the dash.

I have a Classic car stereo, I love it !! Looks great and sounds good also. IMO, would never cut dash.

Is there any good reasons to stay with an analog radio as opposed to a digital. I mean some times the old school stuff is worth holding on to.
BTW a DIN was never a consideration. That's why I was shopping at Classic car for a factory look.

I would have never changed out my stock radio but it got to where I couldn't tune to the Right anymore. Then I found another factory radio at a swap meet and it gave up the ghost in a month. So my wife found this Classic Car stereo and surprised me. I recommend this radio.

The inside of mine is fully digital, it has RCA, USB, Aux, Bluet

I just like the way the factory looks, the guts are all digital now, but there's no real reason other than looks to do what I've done.

Retro sound radios are being reported to receive Rf interference when LEDs are used. You could add a bluetooth fm transmitter to your phone/mp3 player and use it to broadcast to your factory stereo on the the correct station.

I have retrosound in my k5. It was expensive here in europe but therefore it really sucks. Cheap flimsy plastic everywhere and electrical and electronic troubles. I just keep it to cover the radio opening in the dash.

Well it looks like I will be going with the Classic Car Stereo USA-230.
Now I have to think about wiring. The new radio will come labeled, but my factory Delco just has i single plug in. Looks like I will need to locate a wiring diagram for my 85 Burb.
