reman 4 speed

I got the old 1988 V3500 wrecker back other day from shop after having rear end rebuilt and all new springs and 2 tows later the transmission locks up. I've got a couple used transmissions, But wondering if there was a place that sold remans that was worthwhile. My trans is totally toast, 3-4 syncros are broke up in bottom an all kinds of broken parts. Has 350k miles in a 4wd wrecker so had a long hard life. I spent 2 hrs searching for remans online with only one place offering them. $700 range, but only the 2wd ones

sorry don't know of any sources for ready to go units. I have a local shop that is excellent. but he's in so cal . "all 4 wheel drive". highdesertranger

I've thought about just getting a kit and going through one of them I have around, but I have so much going on anymore it may take me a month to get to it. I have a engine that has been setting on stand 2 years now I was going to freshen up for a spare for wrecker. Sometimes it's easier to just have a new one bought and go with it than try and save a $
