My guess is the box is wrapped, then stapled around the item.

Its worse than a map getting stuff back in the same way.

I’m not trying to hijack this thread but my 1981 has a factory slider (says so on the glove box sticker) what do you mean the factory seal is no longer available? I was going to take mine out to repaint the cab. Do I have to now rethink my plan?

If I had a windshield guy come remove the slider will he tell me there is no seal available?

Bingo!

Looks like mine was a factory slider also. I bought a new aftermarket. If anyone is in need of the factory glass, its theirs for the taking.
I need the piece behind the driver. I have an old original slider from my first 76 I bought in Jan 1976. The one on my new '76 must have had a camper top on it and scratched the hell out of it. Please PM me and I will buy it off you and Venmo you cash to ship it to me. Thank you, thank you, thank you! ! !

I'll get it out and at least get a pic - make sure what you want is there.

What was the source of the after market slider? I would like to go to a slider!

Did they use the same style in 85? I thought that's what I had in mine but it's not even close.
I do know yours looks just like the one I had in a 78 dodge years ago.

@hoagster here's how it looked in my '79. Tint is not very dark. These pictures were taken at the same time. You can see looking through the front window, you barely notice it. Had I kept the truck I would have added a darker film to it.

One thing to add, I don't recall it leaking in the rain, but occasionally when washing it, a minimal amount of water would get by the felts near the vertical fixed sections if the hose directly hit it.

Looks good, and the tint is probably darker than original one piece.

as usual I'm a little confused and could use some clarification on my 85.
Is this an original or aftermarket?
