My rear view mirror fell off the windshield a few years ago and since then it has lived on the seat. It looks like it was a glue or clear double stick tape that held it on originally. Does anyone know how it originally attached to the windshield and where to get the adhesive (if that is how it attached) to put it back on the windshield. It would be nice to have again.

Sorry, I just realized this was posted in the "exterior" forum… Admins, please move to interior modifications if possible or if need be.

I have used adhedive called nano470 on mine. I did use lamps on the inside from different sides for curing because the windshields blocks a lot of uv light that is needed for curing. Part stores also sell adhesive for mirrors, but mine fell off the next day with no brand one.

I have used super glue with good results. Make sure to apply glue to both the glas AND the mounting tab for the mirror.

Wal-Mart has the rear view mirror glue for like 2 bucks and I have used it a few times the little kit comes with cleaner and glue all you need is a razor blade to clean off the old glue
